300C SRT Wheels - General Information
Frustrated with the tire choices available for the standard 18 inch wheels, I decided to purchase a set of the SRT polished aluminum 20 inch wheels and Goodyear Eagle RS-A 245/45/ZR20 99Y tires. The handling improvement over the stock wheels and tires is amazing.
A 3mm spacer is required on the front wheels, so that they do not rub against the spindles. I was told this by the tire store where I purchased the wheels, but decided to try it without them. The tire and wheel appear to rub slightly on the upper part of the spindle during tight cornering while reversing. After installing the 3mm spacers, the problem went away.
The road noise increased slightly with the installation of the 20 inch tires, but I think the handling and traction improvements are worth the compromise.
