The 2004 Chrysler Pacifica arrives in Chrysler brand showrooms in the early spring of 2003.
"With innovative packaging and proportions, Pacifica will follow in the prominent segment-busting footsteps of our original minivan and PT Cruiser," said Tom Marinelli, Vice President of Chrysler Marketing. "Pacifica firmly entrenches Chrysler brand in the premium segment of the market. More than 2.7 million people move in and out of minivans, SUVs and cars every year and Chrysler Pacifica is positioned to attract those looking for versatility and flexibility in an all-new proportion."
Chrysler Pacifica offers unmatched versatility and flexibility with easy step-across entry and exit, first-class seating, three rows of seats, and fold-flat second and third row seats. Standard features include three-row side curtain air bags, an inflatable driver-side knee blocker air bag, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, speed control, AM/FM radio with CD player, full-length center console, 17-inch aluminum wheels, and the 250 horsepower 3.5-liter engine from the award winning Chrysler 300M.
Optional features include an in-cluster navigation system, DVD Rear Seat Video™ entertainment system, Infinity® Intermezzo™ 5.1 digital surround sound system, six disc in-dash CD/DVD changer, Sirius™ satellite radio, UConnect™ hands-free communication, second row heated seats, power liftgate, power sunroof, and 17-inch chrome wheels.Pacifica will be offered in a variety of colors including Bright Silver Metallic, Brilliant Black Crystal, Butane Blue, Inferno Red, Light Almond Pearl, Onyx Green, Satin Jade, and Stone White.
Chrysler Brand Expansion With the introduction of Chrysler Pacifica and Crossfire, the Chrysler brand continues to build momentum. Chrysler brand sales have nearly quadrupled to 481,000 units in 2002 from 130,542 units in 1991.
"Without question, Pacifica and Crossfire mark a pivotal time in the 80-year history of the Chrysler brand," said Marinelli. "With a complete lineup of head-turning vehicles, our showrooms have never looked better. With the addition of Pacifica and Crossfire, Chrysler will now have some of the most appealing vehicles under one roof."
Chrysler Pacifica will be built at DaimlerChrysler's Windsor Assembly Plant (Canada). Chrysler Crossfire will be built in Osnabrueck, Germany and arrive mid-summer of 2003. Crossfire pricing will be announced at a later date.

Chrysler Unveils Yet Another Segment Buster with the 2002 Pacifica Concept Vehicle
Production Version of Sports Tourer Will Arrive In Chrysler Dealerships In 2003
Detroit, Jan 6, 2002 - Hot on the heels of introducing PT Cruiser and Crossfire sports coupe, Chrysler introduced yet another segment buster today at the 2002 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Chrysler announced that its all-new 2002 Pacifica concept vehicle will become reality next year.
"The Chrysler Pacifica cannot be binned in any existing automotive category, it's an all-new segment that will follow the success of our original minivan and PT Cruiser," said Dieter Zetsche, President and CEO of the Chrysler Group. "Chrysler Pacifica is a sports tourer with the right formula of proportions, packaging, performance and appearance that will set it far apart from our competition. With its low step-in height, first class seating, three rows of seats, and car-like handling, there is nothing else like it in the marketplace."
Chrysler Pacifica will join the ranks of Chrysler's 1983 minivan and 2001 PT Cruiser as yet another segment buster from the company that has reshaped the automotive landscape time and time again. Chrysler will unveil a production version of the Chrysler Pacifica later this year. Production for the Chrysler Pacifica will begin early 2003, as a 2004 model.
"In addition to unique packaging and proportions, the Chrysler Pacifica concept comes well-equipped," said Richard Schaum, Executive Vice President, Product Development and Quality and General Manager of Passenger Car Operations. "We've loaded the vehicle with our 3.5-liter engine, all-wheel drive, and adjustable pedals. We've included an integrated in-dash navigation system, hands-free communication and our industry-first power liftgate. And in terms of safety, we've included side curtain air bags in all three rows, a tire pressure monitoring system, and four-wheel anti-lock brakes."
